Passagen Verlag is a Vienna- based publisher that Peter Engelmann founded in 1985 under the name Passagen Edition and which has had its current name since 1987.

The original aim of the publisher Peter Engelmann was to translate the works of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida into the German language and to promote their distribution. An increasingly large program of relevant authors from many disciplines developed around the author Derrida, who also think and write in the categories of deconstruction and postmodernism . The Passagen Verlag gathers next to Derrida:

Since 1992, the only work edition of Passagen Verlag has been the works of Hermann Levin Goldschmidt , edited by the literary scholar and philosopher Willi Goetschel, who teaches in Toronto.
Awards
In 2010, Passagen Verlag received the special award from the Social Democratic Business Association Austria for publishing services as part of the Kreisky Prize 2009.
