The Rabtaldirndln

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rabtaldirndln are a five-person theater and performance collective from Graz , founded in 2003 , consisting of Barbara Carli, Rosi Degen, Bea Dermond, Gudrun Maier and Gerda Strobl. The eponymous Rabtal is an imaginary territory in Styria. In addition to the five players, changing directors and dramaturges, previously mostly members of the ensemble of the Graz Theater im Bahnhof , are involved in the creation of the productions . A recurring theme in the Rabtaldirndln's productions is the tension between town and country.

In particular with the production Aufplatzen , with which the Rabtaldirndln were represented at the Freischwimmer 2009 and Impulse 2011 theater festivals , as well as through cooperation with brut Wien and the Pathos Transport Theater , the Rabtaldirndln gained notoriety beyond their Styrian homeland.
