Dörte Lyssewski
Dörte Lyssewski (born July 28, 1966 in Winsen (Luhe) , Lower Saxony ) is a German actress .
Life
Dörte Lyssewski studied drama at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and, after graduating in 1989, received her first engagement at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin under director Peter Stein . Under his direction she played here a. a. the Varya in The Cherry Orchard by Anton P. Chekhov at the side of Jutta Lampe and Peter Simonischek , directed by Luc Bondy in the world premiere of the final choir by Botho Strauss and in William Shakespeare's Winter Tale .
After a few years as a freelance actress, in which she a. a. played at the Schauspielhaus Zürich , she was engaged by artistic director Matthias Hartmann in 2000 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , where she stayed until 2005. Here she played in productions such as Don Karlos by Friedrich Schiller Princess Eboli, the title role in Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen and Charlotte in the stage version of Goethe's Elective Affinities . She was awarded the Gertrud-Eysoldt-Ring for the latter two performances directed by Ernst Stötzner .
In Bochum, Lyssewski also played in the world premiere of Der Narr und seine Frau at the side of Tobias Moretti , directed by Matthias Hartmann. In 2005 she was seen at the Berliner Ensemble in the Strauss production of The One and the Other by Luc Bondy as the daughter of Edith Clever . In 2006 she played the world premiere of Yasmina Reza's The God of Carnage at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, directed by Jürgen Gosch . The production was nominated for the 2007 Nestroy Prize. From 2004 to 2009 she was a guest at the Berliner Ensemble, the Théâtre de l'Odéon and the Paris Opera, the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Deutsches Theater and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
Since her debut in Wyspianski's Wesele under the direction of Andrzej Wajda in 1992, Dörte Lyssewski has been a regular guest at the Salzburg Festival , for example as Warja in Der Kirschgarten in 1995 and 1996 and in the title role in Grillparzer's Libussa in 1997 . From 1999 to 2001 she represented the indulgence in Jedermann alongside Ulrich Tukur .
Dörte Lyssewski has been a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna since the 2009/2010 season and appeared there as Barbara Fordham (daughter) in the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning play A Family by Tracy Letts, directed by Alvis Hermanis. In March 2010, she took on the role of Pia under the direction of Thomas Vinterberg in the play The Burial, which he wrote with his co-author Mogens Rukov . In Vienna, directed by Matthias Hartmann , she also regularly plays the Alcmene in Heinrich von Kleist's comedy Amphitryon . Under Avis Hermanns she plays the genia in Das weite Land and the general in Platonov at the side of Martin Wuttke. She can be seen at the side of Jens Harzer in the Handke premiere of The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez .
In the 2013–14 season she took part in the contemporary witness production The Last Witnesses by Doron Rabinovici and Matthias Hartmann at the Burgtheater in Vienna; the production related to the November pogroms in 1938 , was highly valued by the public and the press and was invited to the 2014 Berlin Theatertreffen .
In addition to the theater, Lyssewski also works in audio productions, as a voice actress (for Cate Blanchett in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies ) and in film and television.
