Awarding of the Nestroy Theater Prize 2018

The Nestroy Awards 2018 was the 19th award of the Nestroy Theater Prize and took place on November 17, 2018 in the Theater an der Wien . The presenters of the award ceremony were Maria Happel , Viktor Gernot and Peter Fässlacher. The winners of three categories ( Lifetime Achievement , Best Equipment and Best Piece - Author's Award ) were announced in advance on October 10, 2018, together with the nominations. The award ceremony was streamed on ORF III .

Nicole Beutler , Iréna Flury , Maria Köstlinger , Sabine Haupt , Patricia Nessy and Grischka Voss sang You don't own me as a song of solidarity for those who “had the courage to get up” during the MeToo debate.

Jury 2018

The jury was appointed by the City Councilor for Culture and consisted of the following people: Karin Cerny ( profile ) , Wolfgang Huber-Lang ( APA ), Peter Jarolin ( courier ) , Eva Maria Klinger , Wolfgang Kralicek ( Theater heute , Süddeutsche Zeitung ) , Petra Paterno ( Wiener Zeitung ) , Ronald Pohl ( Der Standard ) and Lothar Schreiner ( stage ) . The jury was chaired by Karin Kathrein .
