The Nestroy Awards 2001 was the second award of the Nestroy Theater Prize and took place on November 10, 2001 in the Volkstheater (Vienna) . Of the winners in a total of 11 categories, 3 were announced in advance, the remaining 8 only at the award gala.

Peter Simonischek acted as the moderator of the gala , and the laudators were Kirsten Dene , Birgit Doll , Angelica Domröse , Jürgen Flimm , Bruno Ganz , Hans Gratzer , Karlheinz Hackl , Michael Haneke , Christine Kaufmann , Sophie Rois and Emmy Werner .
