Bernhard Ensemble
The Bernhard Ensemble (also the. Bernhard.ensemble ) is based in Vienna and was founded in 1997 by the authors / actors Grischka Voss and Ernst Kurt Weigel . With their only third theater production HAIN by Klaus Haberl the young received Ensemble already the Nestroy Prize 2001 for the best off-theater production. In 2007 the two founded Das Off Theater in Vienna , which is not only a platform for independent ensembles, but also a free venue. The mash-up as a theater format, an invention of the ensemble director Ernst Kurt Weigel, has meanwhile become the ensemble's trademark. International cult films are dramaturgically interwoven with Austrian theater classics.
