Birgit Doll

Birgit Doll (born March 9, 1956 in Vienna ; † October 26, 2015 ) was an Austrian actress and theater director .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1974, Birgit Doll began to study German and theater studies at the age of 19 . She switched to the Max Reinhardt Seminar and completed her acting training there. In 1976 she made her debut at the Salzburg State Theater . She also worked on the following German-speaking theaters: Salzburg Festival , Theater in der Josefstadt , Volkstheater (Vienna) , Burgtheater , Schauspielhaus Zurich , Schiller Theater (Berlin) , Bavarian State Theater , Ernst-Deutsch-Theater . Well-known directors with whom she worked were Ingmar Bergman , Peter Patzak , Maximilian Schell , Hans Gratzer , Hans Lietzau , Otto Schenk and Achim Benning .

Birgit Doll also took on numerous roles on television and in film.

In October 2015, Doll suffered a stroke, from the consequences of which she died a few days later, on October 26, 2015.

She was buried in the Hietzinger Friedhof (group 23, number 2) in Vienna.
