Florentina Holzinger

Florentina Holzinger (born January 8, 1986 in Vienna ) is an Austrian choreographer and performance artist .

Life

Florentina Holzinger studied choreography at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) of the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten . Her solo final piece Silk won the Prix ​​Jardin d'Europe at the Viennese dance and performance festival ImPulsTanz in 2012 . Since 2011 she has appeared with her own productions, which range from solo projects to choreographies for larger ensembles.

Holzinger's productions partly take up themes from classical ballet , e.g. B. Apollon musagète ( Igor Stravinsky , 1928) for Apollon and La Sylphide ( Jean Schneitzhoeffer , 1832) for dance , which she positions between entertainment, trash and high culture with elements of acrobatics , martial arts , stunts , splatter and sideshow .
