Wolfgang Höbel

Wolfgang Höbel (* 1962 in Kaufbeuren , Bavaria ) is a German journalist , editor , music and theater critic .

Life

Höbel studied politics, communication science and new German literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and graduated in journalism . From 1985 onwards he worked as a music and theater critic for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Tempo magazine . From 1989 to 1991 he worked as a culture editor for the magazine Der Spiegel , then he went back to the Süddeutsche Zeitung as an author until 1994 and wrote for the SZ-Magazin at the same time . He has been with Spiegel again since June 1994 and was head of the cultural department there until February 2005. He is currently working as an editor in the Spiegel culture department.
