Alexander Strobele

Alexander Strobele (born May 6, 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor . He has been seen in television series and films since 1983 and has played in around 70 productions so far.

Career

In 1977 he completed the Max Reinhardt Seminar , a drama school founded by Max Reinhardt in Vienna .

Theater engagements then took him to Germany as a young actor, where he stayed until 1987. So he played roles a. a. at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt , at the Schauspielhaus Bad Godesberg , the theater of the then federal capital Bonn, at the Staatstheater Kassel , at the Schauspiel Bremen and at the Theater am Turm , a house in Frankfurt that was closed in 2004.

The title role in the six-part ORF series Calafati Joe brought Strobele back to Austria after a good 14 years in Germany. In the course of this development, he also made the decision to work as a freelance actor from his hometown of Vienna.

Over the years he has played several times and repeatedly on stages in Vienna, for example in 1990, 2007 and 2008 at the Volkstheater or in 1992, 2000 and 2008 at the Theater in der Josefstadt . In addition, he was also involved in independent theater productions that he produced and staged such as “Ich, Feuerbach” by Tankred Dorst as an Austrian premiere.

Private life

Alexander Strobele lives with his partner, communications manager Christiane Huemer-Strobele, and their daughter (a model) in a loft in Vienna's 7th district. The actor has or had two dogs in the meantime.

reception

In an online contribution, the ORF referred to Strobele as a member of the "Austrian acting elite".

In the nomination for the Nestroy Theater Prize 2018, which was awarded to the German actress Dörte Lyssewski , the jury stated that Strobele uses “subtle creative means to draw an inconspicuous figure” that is “still heroic”.
