School for Drama Hamburg
The Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg (SfSH) is a state-recognized and BAföG -funded private vocational school founded in 1987 . It offers 3-year vocational training in film and theater acting with a stage qualification . It also has a wide range of workshops and training opportunities.
history
The Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg was founded in 1987 by Olivia Rüdinger and Michaela Uhlig under the name "O33" as a training facility. Further training for the artists was offered in the fields of acting, singing, dance and speaking in cooperation with the Central Stage, TV and Film Agency (ZBF). In 1992 professional acting training was established under the name "School for Drama Hamburg".
In 2004 the SfSH received the Friedrich Schütter Prize for “outstanding quality in professional acting training”. For the 25th anniversary in 2012, Hamburg's Senator for Culture Barbara Kisseler , British director Michael Bogdanov and Marie Bäumer were among the laudators.
In January 2020 Katharina Jann, Ulrich Meyer-Horsch and Jan Oberndorff took over the management of the SfSH instead of the founders.
The school has been supported by a non-profit association since 1997, which among other things finances scholarships , productions and seminars.
