Patrick Abozen
Patrick Abozen (* 1985 in Hamburg ) is an actor of German - Ethiopian origin.
Artistic career
From 2006 to 2009 Patrick Abozen trained as an actor at the School for Drama in Hamburg ; he graduated from the film class with special distinction. Since then he has been on stage regularly, for example on Radio Rhapsody and Schiller's Räuber . He also played in productions by the Schauspielhaus Hamburg . In 2014 he was Driss in the stage version of Pretty Best Friends in the Hamburger Kammerspiele at the side of Hardy Krüger Jr. directed by Jean-Claude Berutti . For this performance he was awarded the Rolf Mares Prize for Outstanding Performer in 2014. In 2015 he played the role of Lieutenant Werner in Das Boot at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater , also in Hamburg, the role played in the film by Herbert Grönemeyer . The dark-skinned Abozen, the son of German-Ethiopian parents, steps out of his role and declares that he should not have been on a German submarine during World War II.
Abozen also works as a director with students at the Ida-Ehre-Schule in Hamburg-Harvestehude . In 2013 the theater project of the vocational school H 20, in which Abozen was involved, received the Bertini Prize .
Abozen has played in numerous television productions since 2004, and made his debut in the Kieler Tatort episode Shadow Wedding, directed by Kaspar Heidelbach . In the following years he was seen frequently on television, in other Tatort episodes and, above all, in crime series. In 2011 he had a supporting role in the film The man with the bassoon about the family of Udo Juergens .
In 2015 Patrick Abozen, after an initial assignment two years earlier, finally took over the role of Tobias Reisser, the new assistant to the Cologne crime scene inspectors Max Ballauf ( Klaus J. Behrendt ) and Freddy Schenk ( Dietmar Bär ), as the successor to assistant Franziska ( Tessa Mittelstaedt ). Abozen's characterization of the role: “[...] Tobias Reisser is a highly sensitive character, almost mysterious for the others. His great emotionality and extreme empathy help him to see the cases from a different perspective. However, he still has to fight for his place in the team. ”After 10 episodes of the crime scene, Abozen left the cast team in 2017 for dramaturgical reasons.
