Jean-Claude Berutti

Jean-Claude Berutti (born June 14, 1952 in Toulon ) is a French theater director and artistic director.

Life

Jean-Claude Berutti was born into a French-Italian family of teachers. He studied in Strasbourg and has worked mainly as a freelance director in various European countries, in addition to France and Belgium, such as Russia, Germany and Spain. From 1996 to 2001 he worked regularly at the Théâtre national de Belgique (TNB). From 2002 to 2011 he was director of the Comédie in Saint-Étienne , where he was also director of the associated drama school.

Berutti made a name for himself by staging less well-known and rarely performed works of music literature, for example the opera Louise by Gustave Charpentier in 1983 at the Brussels Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie and the work Manfred by Robert Schumann in 1993, and Le Meuble Rouge by Alberto in 1985 in Avignon Bruni Tedeschi and in 1996 in Strasbourg Il Mercato di Malmantile by Domenico Cimarosa .
