The Waldorf student Samuel Weiss completed his acting training from 1986 to 1990 at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , but without a degree, as he himself emphasizes, because he had no idea for a written term paper. During his training he already made guest appearances at the Burgtheater in Vienna and at the Schauspiel Frankfurt .

Subsequently, he was an apprentice at the Vienna Burgtheater and was engaged by various theaters, such as the Landestheater Tübingen (1990/91), where he was dismissed for allegedly lack of motivation, or the Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart (1993 to 2001). In 2012 he was seen in the title role The Great Gatsby . In addition, his production of A Midsummer Night's Dream premiered in March 2012 . “As a member of the Schauspielhaus ensemble, Samuel Weiss is one of the outstanding actors on Kirchenallee. Even in premieres, his performance (he plays in pornography , What you want, and next to Martina Gedeck in Harper Regan ) is usually explicitly excluded. " In September 2014, the premiere of his production of The Resistant Rise of Arturo Ui took place at the Schauspiel Frankfurt .

He also worked in several television and cinema films as well as various television series, such as Bella Block or The Albertis . He also worked as a speaker and for moderation at Süddeutscher Rundfunk . As an audio book and radio play speaker, he filled a number of roles in productions for Audio Verlag , for example in Douglas Adams ' and Terry Jones ' spaceship Titanic or in Dick Francis ' Zügellos (radio play) based on his novel of the same name.

His gestures are economical and powerful, he relies on the intensity of his voice and his gaze. Even when he speaks of "to be or not to be", he has his fists in his trouser pockets and stands motionless. "
