Burghart Klaussner
Burghart Klaußner (born September 13, 1949 in Berlin ) is a German actor , theater director , audio book speaker , singer and author .
Life
Klaußner's father ran the traditional restaurant "Zum Klaußner" in Berlin-Charlottenburg , which is visited by many celebrities . After the Berlin Wall was built in 1961, he gave up the business and the family moved to Graefelfing near Munich. Burghart Klaußner began studying German and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin in 1969 and in the same year switched to the Berlin Max Reinhardt School for Drama to become an actor. From 1970 to 1972 he worked at the Schaubühne on Halleschen Ufer . He then had engagements at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, at the Schiller Theater and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin as well as at stages in Frankfurt am Main , Bochum and Zurich .
In 2005 he played the unscrupulous board member Justus Hardenberg in The fat years are over , but he also shows a completely different side. In the same year he played the historical figure of the mayor of Berlin in 1948, Ernst Reuter, in the TV miniseries The Airlift - Only the Sky Was Free .
In 2007 he played alongside Götz George as the blind piano teacher Henry Lichtfeld in Der Novembermann, the husband of Lichtfeld's lover, who becomes the piano teacher's friend without being recognized.
In 2009 he was seen in the film drama Age and Beauty , which is about friendship and death, alongside Sibylle Canonica , Henry Hübchen and Peter Lohmeyer in the role of the fun-loving friend Justus . In the same year Klaußner played the role of the pastor in the film The White Ribbon, which was awarded the Cannes Golden Palm and was nominated for an Oscar . For this, he was awarded the German Film Critics' Prize in 2009 as best actor. Also in 2009 he was seen alongside Kate Winslet , Ralph Fiennes and Matthias Habich in the role of a judge in the movie Der Vorleser .
For the title role of the Frankfurt public prosecutor Fritz Bauer in the 2015 movie Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer , Klaußner received the Bavarian Film Prize and was nominated for the European Film Prize.
In 2010 he was seen at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden in Don Carlos as King Philip II of Spain . He also works as a director and writer. In 2009 he staged his first own play, Marigold, at the Schauspielhaus Bochum .
Burghart Klaußner is a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg and the German Film Academy , to whose board he was elected in 2010.
Burghart Klaußner lives with his wife in Hamburg- Groß Flottbek . They have two sons.
He is the sponsor of the comprehensive school Velbert Mitte for the title School without Racism - School with Courage and took part in the ceremony on December 1, 2016.
