Reviews

Michael Hanfeld writes on faz.net that the series tries to “catch up with international competition”, but “smeared it halfway”. This is mainly due to “the main actress, who is weakening with her great role”, and “the plot”, which “navigates between the political and the private” “and gives the family story [...] too much space”. Christian Buß said on Spiegel Online that the multi-part series wanted to “create a large political tableau”, but was “entangled in the heroine's guerrilla warfare.” The series lacks “a feel for the quiet switching moments without which power politics simply cannot be explained”.

In contrast, Evelyn Roll from the Süddeutsche Zeitung rates the series more positively. She considers them to be "better told [...] than borrowing ", "excellently cast" and sees "three artfully interlinked genres in one." The main role was "played very well" by Anna Loos.
