Evelyn Roll

Evelyn Roll (born September 4, 1952 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German journalist and publicist.

Life

Evelyn Roll studied German language and literature and political science at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg from 1972 to 1980 . During this time she gained her first journalistic experience at the Badische Zeitung . This was followed by a postgraduate course in journalism with a minor in public law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

Her further journalistic career took place from 1980 to 1982 as a freelance journalist for the Abendzeitung , the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) and the Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 1983 she came to the SZ in Munich , where she initially worked as a local reporter and correspondent . From 1992 Roll headed the SZ office in Frankfurt am Main before moving to Berlin in the same position in 1995. The structure of the capital city editorial office was the focus of their work.

For their contribution, Brand New Sizes , published in the Süddeutsche Zeitung from 9./10. Published in October 1999, it was awarded the Theodor Wolff Prize in the general category in 2000.

Evelyn Roll has been working as an author since 1999 and publishes books on primarily political topics. Her publications include a. several books about Angela Merkel and a portrait about Oskar Lafontaine . She has also published a book about golf , a sport she has been practicing since school.
