SOKO Hamburg is a German crime series produced by Network Movie for ZDF . It is the eighth offshoot of the TV crime series SOKO Munich (formerly SOKO 5113 ). The first season, initially with six episodes, was filmed in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Lower Saxony from mid-October 2017 and broadcast on Tuesdays at 6:05 p.m. - on the actual broadcasting slot of SOKO Cologne from March 27, 2018 .

The content of the program is the investigation of crimes and murder cases in Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. The SOKO commissariat is an old brick building located on the Elbe in Hamburg-Finkenwerder .

The SOKO is managed by Chief Detective Jan Köhler and Chief Detective Lena Testorp. While Testorp is ambitious, Köhler rejects the hierarchy of authorities and prefers to work from the street. The team also includes the experienced policeman Oskar Schütz, Cem Aladag, who is considered the walking Wikipedia encyclopedia of the team, and Maria Gundlach, who together with Aladag forms the heart of the guard.
2nd season
New to the team are Sarah Khan as SOKO leader, Max Nordmann as detective commissioner and Franziska Berger as commissioner candidate. Jan Köhler, Cem Aladag and Maria Gundlach are no longer named as team members.

In mid-September 2018, the ZDF announced the extension of a second season, which should consist of ten episodes. Filming began at the beginning of March 2019. The broadcast took place from September 24, 2019 to November 26, 2019 on ZDF.
