SOKO Potsdam is a German crime series. It has been produced for ZDF by the company Bantry Bay Productions GmbH in the Brandenburg state capital Potsdam since March 2018 . The Potsdam offshoot is the ninth offshoot of the SOKO series, which started in 1978 under the title SOKO 5113 (today: SOKO Munich ). The first six-part season, which was mainly filmed and produced in Potsdam and the surrounding area until May 2018, began broadcasting on September 24, 2018.

The content of the series is the investigation of murder cases in Potsdam and the surrounding area. In contrast to all previous central figures among the SOKO investigators, two very young female inspectors act as the main characters in the Potsdam branch . Luna Kunath and Sophie Pohlmann were best friends even before they started working for the police and are therefore more than good friends outside of their daily work routine. As part of their work they are by her boss Bernhard Henschel, the good spirit of the Bureau forensic pathologist Werner Vense, colleagues David Green tree and Christoph Westermann and the skilled person from the crime scene accompanied Thomas Brandner. A special feature is the almost family relationship between all those involved. Far away from the cases to be processed, which are completed per episode, storylines relating to the team are told horizontally , i.e. beyond the episodes.

The series is set in Potsdam and is also shot in Brandenburg's state capital and the surrounding communities. Filming locations are spread across the entire city. Sun holds a former school at the crossroads Gutenbergstraße / Hebbelstraße as Commissioner of SOKO Potsdam ago and found chases u. a. in the Dutch quarter in the second baroque city expansion. The HEM petrol station below Nutheschnellstrasse , Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse and the Belvedere on the Pfingstberg are other original locations for the first season.
