Robby Dannenberg (screenwriter)

Robert Raoul Dannenberg (born August 23, 1976 in Essen ) is a German screenwriter and director .

Life

Dannenberg attended the Borbeck grammar school in Essen from 1987 until he passed his Abitur in 1996 . Attending a film workshop at New York University in 1997 sparked his interest in filmmaking. As a result, he took up a degree in film and television business at the Advertising and Media Academy Marquardt (WAM) in Dortmund, which he completed in 2001. He then studied at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and graduated in 2006 as a scriptwriter.

In 2007 he was involved in the script for Evi Goldbrunner and Joachim Dollhopf's seven-minute short film I don't feel like dancing . The award-winning film was shown at numerous film festivals in around 40 countries and shown on arte in 2011 .

Dannenberg lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr and works mainly with Stefan Scheich . The duo Dannenberg and Scheich were awarded the Bavarian TV Prize in 2011 for their writing for the series The Last Bull . The series itself was awarded the German Television Prize in 2012 in the “Best Series” category.
