history

Kookaburra was the first comedy club in the German capital and is an integral part of Berlin's cultural scene. Since 2002 it has been located in the former premises of a savings bank branch. Berlin's oldest vault is in the club's basement. The club was set up based on American models. The Comedy Club should actually be called "Comedy Tresor", but that was prevented by the lawyers of the techno club Tresor . The owner Sanjay Shihora then used “ Kookaburra ” after the bird known as “laughing Hans”, which has since adorned the club's emblem.
