Hans-Joachim Heist (born January 11, 1949 in Seeheim-Jugenheim ) is a German actor , comedian and director . He is best known in the role of Gernot Hassknecht in the show today .

life and career

After a plumber -Teaching in Darmstadt and an aborted studies in civil engineering at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences studied Heist early 1980s spectacle in Wiesbaden. After training as an actor, she performed in Marburg, Darmstadt, Frankfurt am Main, Krefeld-Mönchengladbach, Zurich, Mannheim as well as at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater and the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival. For the portrayal of the butler James in Dinner for One , at the side of his wife Karin, Heist received the specialist media award in the comedy category in 1999 . In Mannheim he also works as a director at the Oststadt Theater .

Heist, who also works as a speaker and presenter, demonstrated his comedic talent with stage programs such as Alone in the Sauna , Die Sternstunde des Josef Bieder or The Double Bass . His parodies include Heinz Rühmann , Heinz Erhardt (Noch'n Gedicht) , Prof. Bernhard Grzimek , Hans Moser and Theo Lingen . In addition to his work at the theater, Heist took part in more than 70 film and television productions. The better-known roles include that of Peter Däumel in the television series These Drombuschs in the early 1980s and that of police chief Fritz Zatopek in SOKO Cologne . In 2012 he took on a guest role in the film Kückskind and in an episode of the series SOKO 5113 . Between 2014 and 2016 he was seen in several episodes of the HR advice show Dings vom Dach , played in the well-known KIKA children's program Löwenzahn and took on the role of Horst Schwadtke in the ZDF series Bettys Diagnose . In 2015, Hans-Joachim Heist gave the character Wut his voice for the Disney animated film Everything is upside down .

In 2016 Heist appeared in other popular ZDF productions; u. a. in SOKO Stuttgart and the cooking show Lafer! Lichter! Lecker! . In autumn he shot the comedy In Love in Amsterdam in Amsterdam , which was broadcast on ARD in April 2017. In 2018 he played Gerhardt Kresters in the comedy Verliebt auf Iceland (ARD).

The actor has recently become known to a wide audience through the ZDF satellite show heute-show , in which he plays Gernot Hassknecht , a choleric, screaming television news commentator . This character was taken from the Back in Black segment with Lewis Black of the American Daily Show . It became so successful that Heist decided, after the success of a first stage tour, The Hassknecht Principle - in twelve steps to become a choleric (September 2013 to December 2015). In February 2017 the second stage program Hassknecht LIVE - Now it's getting personal premiered.

Heist is also regularly present as a guest on German television, for example in 2010 in Die Krone der Volksmusik , the ZDF morning magazine (2011), 3 to 9 (Radio Bremen, 2011), DAS! Heist has two children and has lived in Pfungstadt since 1986 , where he has been involved in local politics for the SPD since 1999 , and from 2004 as a city councilor. In December 2011, however, he declared that he was waiving his mandate because he could no longer reconcile his professional obligations such as participating in the weekly Today Show with his work in Pfungstadt's local politics. Hans-Joachim Heist has been the ambassador of the German Kidney Foundation since 2012 and one of its board members since August 2017. The state of Hessen awarded Heist the letter of honor in 2015 for his special voluntary commitment.
