Lewis Black

Lewis Black (born August 30, 1948 in Silver Spring , Maryland ) is an American comedian , actor and author .

He graduated from Yale University in 1977 with a Master of Fine Arts. He worked in the theater for many years until he switched to comedy in the early 1990s.

In 2000, Black received the American Comedy Awards in the Funniest Male Stand-Up Comic category. In 2007 he received the Grammy Award for his CD The Carnegie Hall Performance . Black received his next Grammy Award in 2011 with the album Stark Raving Black .

Lewis Black is a frequent guest star on the satirical news program The Daily Show .
