In Love with Amsterdam is a German feature film. The first broadcast took place on April 28, 2017.

action

Lawyer Max Baumann decides to move to Amsterdam instead of taking over the family business . As a well-organized German, he meets the chaotic sandwich shop owner Sophie and falls in love with her.

For Max's 30th birthday, his parents Herbert and Dorothea come to Amsterdam to fetch their son back. They are not very enthusiastic about their daughter-in-law, who makes bread and lives with her lesbian sister on a houseboat. The fathers-in-law get to know each other when Herbert drives off his bicycle in his German Mercedes Johann. Both of them rave about the 1974 World Cup final.

production

The film is a production by producer Jens Christian Susa / Provobis Filmgesellschaft on behalf of ARD Degeto. The shooting took place until October 20, 2016 in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.

Criticism for

Tittelbach.tv thinks about the film that the film breaks up the pattern of romantic comedy that has been worn out by Sat1 and is pleased that "ARD and Degeto are at least in spring thematically and in terms of pitch a little more daring than in autumn and winter."
