The Provobis Society of Film and Television Ltd. is a film production company , which was founded in Berlin 1961st It is a subsidiary of the Tellux holding company in Munich and has locations in Berlin, Hamburg and Leipzig.

Provobis develops and produces for cinema and television. The managing directors are Martin Choroba and Jens Christian Susa . From 1983 to 2007 the producer, director and author Jürgen Haase managed the company. The producer Thomas Teubner headed the company from 2006 to 2016. In 2018 Jens Christian Susa was appointed managing director.

In 1989, Provobis filmed “ The Spider Web ” with director Bernhard Wicki and Klaus Maria Brandauer . In 1994, Brandauer also premiered the man-made film “ Mario and the Magician ”. In 1995 the Erich Loest film adaptation " Nikolaikirche " was made for the cinema and as a two-parter for television .
