Daughter of my heart is a German melodrama of the director Dietmar Klein in 2003. In the lead role embodies Christine Neubauer single mother Sabrina Maurer.

action

Sabrina Maurer lives in divorce and brings up their daughter Laura alone. Stefan, her ex-husband, does not leave any good memories with Sabrina, because the heavily indebted owner of a fitness studio is often very sluggish in meeting his maintenance obligations.

At a chance encounter, Sabrina meets the lawyer Robert Clajus, who immediately takes Sabrina's daughter Laura into his heart. This chance encounter will help Sabrina, because none of the protagonists yet know that Laura is not the biological daughter at all. Neither from Stefan nor from Sabrina. A paternity test sheds light on the truth: Laura was accidentally switched with another baby when she was born in hospital.

With all the hustle and bustle, the youth welfare office is also aware of the case. A long fight for Laura's future begins now, because Sabrina is now officially suspected of having kidnapped a child. The youth welfare office puts Sabrina in custody as a precaution and Laura is quartered in a home. Now the lawyer Robert comes into play, who manages to get Sabrina out of custody against a bail payment, but whether the judge in charge can be convinced of Sabrina's innocence is still in the stars.

Lawyer Robert, who has fallen in love with Sabrina, fights by her side to ensure that Laura can stay with her.

The plot ends with the judge in charge ruling that Sabrina, although she is not Laura's biological mother, is granted custody. In her reasoning for the judgment, she mentions the fact that she has recognized that Laura feels at home with Sabrina .
