Jens Christian Susa
Jens Christian Susa (born February 15, 1969 in Weimar ) is a German film producer and executive producer . Since 2018 he has been the managing director of Provobis Gesellschaft für Film und Fernsehen mbH .
Life
Jens C. Susa is a trained carpenter. He was prop man at the Darmstadt State Theater and City Theater Trier , scene painter and prop man at the German National Theater in Weimar , editor of the broadcasts Stars & Stripes and Abgedreht the TV from Berlin (FAB).
After training as a production manager at Luna Film GmbH, he later moved to the MOOVIE GmbH company of Oliver Berben and Carlo Rola as production manager . In 2003 MOOVIE GmbH merged with Constantin Film AG from Bernd Eichinger to form MOOVIE the art of Entertainment GmbH. As an executive producer , he was mainly responsible for television films , including a. the ZDF three-part series Die Patriarchin , Afrika, mon amour and Krupp - A German Family . He participated in the production of more than 20 individual films of the ZDF thriller series Rosa Roth (with Iris Berben ) as production and production manager with and later as executive producer. Together with Oliver Berben, he was managing director of MOOVIE the art of entertainment GmbH for many years.
Since 2013 he has been working as a film producer and executive producer for Provobis Gesellschaft für Film und Fernsehen mbH , where he has been managing director since 2018. The television film he produced, Der namenlose Tag (2017), received awards at the 2018 Romy Awards in the categories of “Best Director TV Film” and “Best Image Creation TV Film”. The film Hanne produced by him won the Adolf Grimme Prize 2020 in the section "Fiction / Television Film", in particular for directed by Dominik Graf , screenplay by Beate Langmaack , leading actress Iris Berben .
