Beate Langmaack
Beate Langmaack (born December 2, 1957 in Hamburg ) is a German screenwriter .
Life
During and after studying German, theater studies and philosophy in Berlin (master’s degree), Beate Langmaack first worked as a local reporter, then as a film maker and set designer. In 1987 she wrote her first screenplay, Martha Jellneck, from which a multi-award-winning feature film with Heidemarie Hatheyer in the lead role and later a stage play emerged.
For her scripts she got u. a. the 'Nymphe d'Or' (Golden Nymph) in Monte Carlo, the 'police stars' of the Hamburg police, twice the German TV Prize, three times the Robert Geisendörfer Prize and five times the Grimme Prize.
Together with Richard Reitinger , Langmaack has headed the screenwriting department at the Hamburg Media School since 2005 .
