occupation

Sailor's Bride is a German crime film by (director) Christine Hartmann from 2006. The television film was released as the 276th episode of the film series Polizeiruf 110 . The commissioners Hinrichs and Tellheim investigated their first joint case.

action

When Chief Inspector Jens Hinrichs came to the Schwerin office one morning, he found a farewell letter from his colleague Tobias Törner on the empty desk. Only its goldfish remained. Besides caring for flowers and making friends with the goldfish, Hinrichs doesn't have much to do at the moment.

In the meantime, Ronny Krohm misses his girlfriend Caroline Berger in the Hanseatic city of Wismar and talks about it with Inspector Markus Tellheim, who used to work for the water police and now works for the criminal police. However, the prerequisites for filing a missing person report are lacking and Tellheim has his own worries as he recently had to bury his own sister. When Caroline's body is found in Wismar, Hinrichs goes there and is supposed to clarify the case with Tellheim. The cooperation between the Saxon and his closed colleague is difficult at first. An e-mail in Caroline's computer and a slip of paper with a handwritten note lead the investigators to the assumption that Caroline knew another man better, which her friend Ronny firmly rejects. But the telephone contacts apparently also lead to a man.

The investigation is progressing slowly. Hinrichs suspects that adhesive residues on the victim's little finger have a role in the case. A few days earlier, fishermen had fished a “sailor's bride” - a sex doll - out of the water in their nets, which had an adhesive tape on her finger. It soon turns out that the doll was caught by the wrong fishermen - it was meant for Ronny. As a warning: keep your hands off "my" doll. Using specially purchased sex dolls at the harbor, Hinrichs investigates why they were swimming in the water at a certain depth. This happens to the great astonishment of passers-by and does not provide any information about the perpetrator.

The two commissioners simply cannot find a motive for the murder. When Tellheim visits Ada Davidson, a friend of Caroline's from childhood, at the Oceanographic Institute in Wismar, he makes an interesting discovery. There is a computer there that can be used to manipulate fonts. So it turns out bit by bit that it was Ada who killed Caroline and laid several false leads so that another person who does not really exist should be suspected. Ada's goal was to have Ronny to herself, with whom she had a relationship years ago. She couldn't stand the happiness of Caroline and Ronny any longer.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Kino.de writes about this thriller: “If TV prizes were championships, Beate Langmaack would easily defend her title year after year. In 2005 she was awarded a Grimme Prize for the 'design and further development' of the NDR 'Police Call 110' films from Schwerin together with the two main actors Steimle and Hübchen. Now the goldfish that Tobias Törner left for his colleague Hinrichs is the only reminder of Hübchen. "

At tittelbach.tv , Rainer Tittelbach evaluates : “Uwe Steimle is in a great mood - and Felix Eitner, a great mime who is not trusted to have as much charisma as Hübchen, is convincing across the board. His Tellheim makes you curious about more. "
