Mario Paslak has money worries and so he comes up with the idea of ​​robbing passengers on a passenger train. Then he applies the emergency brake and disappears. After the inspectors Jens Hinrichs and Tobias Törner secure the traces and record the personal details of the injured party, they are called to another robbery. A trucker was mugged and the entire truck trailer was stolen. The company CU.East is damaged , which is now missing a load of computer chips and thus the ongoing production is at risk.

In the meantime, Hinrichs has found a trace of the train robber, because Mario Paslak carelessly offered all of his prey on the Internet and described it in detail. During the house search, during which all stolen objects are found, however, Paslak is not available and must be written out to be searched. There also seems to be a trace of the stolen truck load. On the one hand, an empty container from Schwerin appeared in Wismar , and on the other, Hinrichs was able to locate the phone number of a stolen computer chip. But neither of these things really lead the commissioners any further. However, Törner manages to find Mario Paslak's hiding place. There he finds a depressed young man who has long had doubts about the German legal system, according to which it would only ever hit the “little man”, but never the “big man” who could afford everything. His anger is directed against the management of CU.East in particular . However, Hinrichs only considers the man to be a "embittered social envy". But he soon revised his opinion and actually believes it is possible that the board of directors of CU.East themselves might have been interested in the cargo of chips not reaching their factory, because the sender of the container was a Taiwanese toy supplier. Closer research reveals a high level of insurance fraud, as well as a bankruptcy delay and subsidy fraud . The colleagues from white-collar crime take over the case.
