Chief Detective Jens Hinrichs is a fictional person from the ARD crime series Polizeiruf 110 , who was played by Uwe Steimle .

Jens Hinrichs had several partners over the years. He first investigated between 1994 and 2000 with Kurt Groth , who was played by Kurt Böwe . From 2000 to 2002 Hinrichs and Jürgen Schmidt played Holm Diekmann (Robert Dieckmann in the first film) formed a team. He was followed by Tobias Törner ( Henry Hübchen ) and from 2006 to 2009 Markus Tellheim alias Felix Eitner .

In 2008, the NDR decided to move the police call from the Schwerin scene to Rostock, with the new team of investigators Bukow and König . According to the NDR, the Schwerin police call was "counted out".

Jens Hinrichs investigated a total of 31 cases in Schwerin and the surrounding area. Together with Kurt Böwe, he formed the NDR's first police call team .

Hinrichs' audience numbers in the last two years averaged 6.2 million in the back of the field, while the successor duo Bukow and König attracted an average of 7.3 million in front of the screen from 2009 to 2011. Steimle's last police call fell to 5.6 million, but was still able to achieve the day's victory.

Hinrichs is a newcomer to his job at the beginning of the series and receives from Chief Detective Dr. Stuber ( HH Müller ) placed the former police officer Kurt Groth at the side. In contrast to Groth, he mainly relies on new investigation methods and computer technology, but learns from him over time that you also need a feeling for people in order to be a good investigator. Hinrichs wants to make a career and is accordingly submissive to his superiors, but learns here too that such behavior does not lead to the goal.

During his investigation, Hinrichs met the prostitute Nina ( Julia Richter ), with whom he fell in love. Only with the help of Groth and his granddaughter ( Gabriele Völsch ) does the uptight Hinrichs manage to get together with Nina and finally to marry her. They have two children together, son Fritzi and the younger Charlotte.

After Groth's death, Hinrichs got his equal colleague Holm Diekmann from Hamburg as a partner and was afraid of being sidelined. Diekmann quickly leaves the Schwerin police station, and so does Hinrich's long-time superior, Dr. Stuber is retiring. His new partner becomes Tobias Törner, whose lax attitude Hinrichs does not like. In addition, his marriage to Nina is beginning to become increasingly difficult.

Törner doesn't stay long either; he is followed by Markus Tellheim.
