The Whore Strike - A Love on St. Pauli is a comedy film and a love story by director Martin Enlen . In the lead role , Sandra Speichert embodies the kickboxer Sandy and the senator's daughter Isabell in her secret double life .
action
The Reeperbahn in Hamburg is the place that the young artist Nikolaus calls his home. He feels comfortable there, lives in harmony with the women of the red light district and can calmly pursue his artistic talent. One day he falls in love with Sandy, who appears as a kickboxer at night and earns her money with exhibition fights . However, Sandy leads a double life: During the day she is the daughter of Senator Röder, who studies law. The unsuccessful artist Nikolaus initially suspects nothing of this dual role . After receiving a basket from his great love , in his euphoria he writes the words “I love you” in oversized letters on the museum ship Cap San Diego , which is anchored in the port of Hamburg.
Caught by the police, Nikolaus has to be remanded in custody. When Sandy found out that her admirer had been arrested, she contacted the prostitute Elisa, who, together with her colleagues, organized a strike to force his release from custody. Together with Sandy in the role of kickboxer and the support of a local brewery, they actually get his release from prison.
Now Isabell's father comes into play, who has no idea about his daughter's nightly activities. However, since the strike action caused a lot of media coverage, he learned of his daughter's double life.

Reviews
The film received mixed, but mostly negative to devastating criticism. For example, TV Spielfilm states that "[...] the milieu is seldom as smooth and clean as in this neighborhood fairy tale by Martin Enlen [appears]". The summary of the program guide is: “Nice to look at, but softened”.
The TV magazine Prisma goes particularly hard with the production and judges sharply: "Silly story, stupid dialogues, implausible representation of the neighborhood and the otherwise good actors are worse than ever".
Kino.de, on the other hand, is of the opinion that the film is a nice comedy in which, among other things, the Hamburg prostitutes go on strike to provide legally binding protection for their profession.
