Television from Berlin ( FAB ) was a private television station from Berlin . FAB was founded on August 15, 1990 and started broadcasting almost six months later, on February 1, 1991 . In 2009, the station ceased operations after bankruptcy.
history
According to the broadcaster, FAB was the first broadcaster in Germany to consciously broadcast according to a complex rotation principle. In addition to the rotating programs, several hours of new programming were added to the program every day. The broadcaster focused on programs on local and regional topics with a high proportion of service. In the previous evening's show Hallo Berlin . a. In addition to the latest news, the daily Keno and Lotto Berlin numbers are also presented.
The shareholder structure consisted of a large number of medium-sized program producers, u. a. Stefan Aust , together, who also contributed the content. The majority owner, with around 40% stake, was the German television news agency . At the end of 2006, the broadcaster received a new broadcast license that enabled it to expand further. In the spring of 2008, FAB opened a new, ultra-modern media center on Genthiner Strasse, Berlin-Tiergarten . On January 29, 2009 the broadcaster filed for bankruptcy and ceased broadcasting on April 1, 2009. Some programs were taken over by the regional broadcaster TV Berlin and the Spree Canal Berlin , such as B. Ars Vivendi with moderator Manuel Werner , who was one of the founding partners of FAB, or Fashion & Faces in the Spree Canal.
Charisma
The program was broadcast terrestrially via DVB-T in Berlin and Brandenburg as well as in the cable network. Initially, RTL also broadcasted on the terrestrial Berlin frequency at the time. From 6 p.m., a 45-minute local magazine was broadcast under the title Windows from Berlin under the direction of Dirk Beinhold and Lenard Fritz Krawinkel . The frequency was also used for several hours at night (from 1 to 6 a.m.). The station was later given its own analogue, terrestrial frequency, which was switched off due to the complete switch to DVB-T in the Berlin area.
Moderators

Heinz Klaus Mertes moderated until the end of broadcasting in 2009.
