Märchenperlen is a series by ZDF . Since 2005, with the exception of 2016, new fairy tale films have been filmed.

In addition to this series of fairy tales, there is also the series of fairy tales six in one go by ARD . As with the fairy tale pearls, fairy tales are remade there.

background

The films are based on the classic fairy tale traditions , but have been modernized in narrative style and content. This is particularly true of the fairy tale film Little Red Riding Hood .

Outdated statements and symbols from the original version have been reinterpreted or supplemented to take into account the perception of the present.

The editor-in-chief responsible for the fairy tale film adaptations at ZDF, Irene Wellershoff , wrote about the script development: “Every fairy tale film adaptation by ZDF takes several years to complete. […] On closer inspection, fairy tales are cryptic texts, full of jumps and contradictions, their content can be interpreted in many ways. This is precisely where the challenges lie, because the basic themes of fairy tales can be reinterpreted by every generation. "

Most of the films were produced in Germany or Austria. In 2014 there was a German-Finnish co-production with filming in both countries. In April 2017, the filming of Rübezahl's Treasure took place in the Czech Republic . The fairy tale film Snow White and the Magic of the Dwarfs was partly shot in the Czech Republic.

Charisma

The first broadcast was usually in the ZDF Christmas program . Occasionally there are repetitions in the ZDFtivi children's program , mostly on public holidays such as Christmas , Easter or Whitsun . The Sunday fairy tale , which begins every Sunday at 12 noon, is repeated at irregular intervals .

templates

Over the years most of the films were based on fairy tales or motifs from fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm . In the meantime, fairy tales have been filmed six times, in 2008, 2012, twice in 2014 and twice in 2017, based on fairy tales from other collectors, such as B. Hans Christian Andersen , or Wilhelm Hauff are based.

Others

The title Märchenperlen was used for the first time in 2010 for the DVD release for the films produced up to then.

Special productions
