Irene Wellershoff
Irene Wellershoff (* 1954 in Bonn ) is a German editor- in- chief at ZDF - children's program , dramaturge and author . She is the inventor of the ZDF children's series Siebenstein , wrote scripts and the picture book series with the hero "Finn". She is u. a. responsible for the series of fairy tale pearls . Her programs have won numerous prizes, the German Film Prize, the Robert Geisendörfer Prize, the Golden Spatz, the Foreign Animation Golden Award at the Shanghai TV Festival, prizes at the Prix Jeunesse International, the Chicago International Children's Festival, the Japan Prize International Educational Program Contest, etc.
For her extensive work Weller Hoff was the 2018 Grimm citizens lectureship of the city of Hanau and Frankfurt University awarded. In this context, Manfred Schubert-Zsilavecz u. a. from: "Irene Wellershoff has inscribed herself in television history with the children's series Siebenstein and its inner stories ." At the 2nd International Fairy Tale Festival Fabulix in Annaberg-Buchholz , Wellershoff received the festival's honorary award in 2019 "for her great commitment in the field of children's and youth films ”. She has shaped the fairy tale film landscape in Germany like hardly anyone else.
Wellershoff led numerous international workshops, mostly for the Prix Jeunesse and the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), u. a. in Mexico and Canada, the Philippines, the USA, Syria, Kosovo, Georgia, Mongolia and Afghanistan. She has been on numerous juries and was presenter at the Prix Jeunesse International and President of the Japan Prize for Educational Television.
Wellershoff studied German and social sciences . She did her doctorate on the poet Mascha Kaléko . After the 2nd state examination for teaching at grammar schools, she went to ZDF. She is the daughter of the writer Dieter Wellershoff (1925–2018) and his wife, the writer Maria Wellershoff , geb. from Thadden .
