Maria Wellershoff

Maria Wellershoff , née von Thadden (* 1922 in Trieglaff , Pomerania), is a German writer . Her parents are the royal Prussian administrative lawyer Adolf Gerhard Ludwig von Thadden (1858–1932) and his second wife, the teacher Anna Barbara Blank (1895–1972). One brother was the former right-wing extremist member of the Bundestag and Lower Saxony's state parliament, Adolf von Thadden (1921-1996). Another brother, Reinold von Thadden , was the founder of the German Evangelical Church Congress (1891–1976). Her sister Elisabeth von Thadden was executed as a resistance fighter against the Nazi regime in Berlin-Plötzensee (1890–1944).

Maria Wellershoff was married to the writer Dieter Wellershoff until his death in June 2018.
