Omar El-Saeidi

Omar El-Saeidi (born October 20, 1980 in Giessen ) is a German actor .

Career

Omar El-Saeidi was born in Giessen, his family comes from Egypt . He has six siblings. In his childhood he lived temporarily in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia , where his parents worked at the university there. Since the daughters in Saudi Arabia could not have completed the schooling they wanted, the family returned to Giessen. At school El-Saeidi came into contact with acting and played his first role in Grease .

After completing his degree in business administration in real estate management, Omar El-Saeidi completed an acting training at the Rostock University of Music and Theater (HMT Rostock). He wrote his thesis on "The German actor with a migration background". In 2005 he received a scholarship from the Rostock Horst Rahe Foundation .

Since 2000 El-Saeidi can be seen regularly in theater and television roles. From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Cologne Theater Ensemble ; then he moved to the Bielefeld Theater .

Since autumn 2018 Omar El-Saeidi can be seen as Chief Commissioner David Grünbaum in the ZDF television series SOKO Potsdam .
