Ralf Richter (born August 17, 1957 in Essen ) is a German actor . In rigging his first name appears occasionally in the spelling Ralph .

Life

Richter grew up with seven siblings in Bochum . His younger brother Frank-Martin Strauss is also known as FM unit (formerly at Einstürzende Neubauten ). First he did an apprenticeship as a carpenter and from 1977 studied for two years at the drama school in Bochum . After playing at the theater in Berlin and Bonn , he moved to Munich in 1981 . There he got a role from Wolfgang Petersen in the feature film Das Boot , through which he first became known to a wide audience.

He usually plays the tough or "bad" characters or the role of the Ruhrpott- Prolet. He achieved cult status above all as "Kalle Grabowski" in the film Bang Boom Bang - A surefire thing . In the 1991 film Superstau , he played a stressed miner from Gelsenkirchen who is on vacation to Corsica in his Audi 100 with his wife and son.

Over the course of his career, he has worked with well-known directors in German film, including Dominik Graf ( The Cat ), Oskar Roehler ( Suck My Dick ) and Til Schweiger ( The Polar Bear ). His current project is called Grabowski - Everything for the Family . Due to the cult status of his roles Karl-Heinz, Kalle and Harry Grabowski in the Unna trilogy by Peter Thorwarth , his son Maxwell initiated this film, in which Richter is supposed to play his cult characters again in a triple role. In order to be able to produce this film, father and son Richter started a crowdfunding campaign .
