Carl Schenkel
Carl Schenkel (born May 8, 1948 in Bern , † December 1, 2003 in Los Angeles , California ) was a Swiss film director and screenwriter .
He died of heart failure in Los Angeles, his adopted home.
Known movies
He had his first big success in 1984 with Abwärts , with Götz George , Wolfgang Kieling and Renée Soutendijk in the lead roles, the young Hannes Jaenicke became known through the film. With the film adaptation of Two Women in 1989 he achieved a respectable success with critics. With George Peppard and Rip Torn , Hollywood actors were also engaged in supporting roles. His most commercially successful film was Knight Moves - A Murderous Game with Christopher Lambert , Diane Lane and Tom Skerritt . The film had two million viewers in Germany, but it flopped in the United States.
