Survival chain
The term life-saving chain ( chain of survival ) called Anglo-Saxon life-saving emergency measures by laymen in sudden cardiovascular collapse .
The first steps in this chain are:
- Recognizing the symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest (response, control of breathing)
- Supine position
- Emergency call
- Chest compressions (100 times per minute), in between two respiration ( resuscitation measures )
- Early defibrillation
- (Introduction) more rapid further measures (" Advanced Life Support ")
In contrast to the German term rescue chain ( rescue chain ), the related chain of survival solely on preclinical activities during sudden cardiovascular arrest included Erstdefibrillation.
