Nicholas Kazan

Nicholas Kazan (born November 30, 1945 in New York City ) is an American dramaturge , screenwriter , film director and film producer .

Life

Nicholas Kazan was born to the filmmaker Elia Kazan and Molly Day Thatcher. Kazan grew up in Connecticut with his two sisters, brother and half-brother . He studied at Swarthmore College from 1964 to 1968 . He then moved to San Francisco to work as a playwright. After Kazan had already written scripts for films such as Frances , Auf short Distance and Patty , it was an adaptation of the novel for the drama The Affair of Sunny by B. with which he had his greatest success to date in 1991 with an Oscar nomination for the best adapted screenplay .

Nicholas Kazan has been married to director Robin Swicord since 1984 and has a daughter, actress Zoe Kazan .
