Benjamin Eicher
Benjamin Eicher (born March 31, 1974 in Tübingen ) is a German filmmaker who worked on the series Dei Mudder sei face .
Life
Benjamin Eicher has made feature films , short films , commercials and music videos since 1996, for example with rap artists such as Afrob , Samy Deluxe , Massiv or Azad . A music video for a member of the Wu-Tang clan (Inspectah Deck, I Don't Wanna Go Back ) was his biggest international success.
Benjamin Eicher founded the company "Los Banditos Films" together with Timo Joh. Mayer in 2000 . With his company, he particularly focuses on developing, producing and directing street gangster movies. The film Kopf oder Zahl is the first feature film production for which he was able to win over actors such as Heinz Hoenig , Ralf Richter , Martin Semmelrogge and Claude-Oliver Rudolph in addition to Jenny Elvers , Mark Keller , Jana Pallaske and Tyron Ricketts . Thus, 25 years after the cult film Das Boot, a large part of the crew stood in front of the camera together for the first time.
Since 2010, Benjamin Eicher has been shooting not only feature films, but also 3D documentaries with natural themes all over the world for Universal Studios . The company he founded, Los Banditos Films, trades in film licenses and film rights around the world and around 50 titles are published in Germany , Austria , Switzerland and England every year . The own productions are marketed worldwide.
Benjamin Eicher has also been featured in his self-produced documentation since 2018. In the documentary “The White Massai Warrior” he lived for months with real Maasai warriors in the Masai Mara in Kenya and is therefore probably the first white person who was allowed to successfully pass the “Masai Warrior” exam . The film will be released in cinemas across Germany in January 2020.
With the film Camera Obscura he won the award for the best young directors at the Biberach Film Festival in 2004.
