Cosima's lexicon is a comedy film of the director and screenwriter Peter Kahane from 1992. In the lead role embodies Iris Berben the author Cosima.

action

Cosima only noticed the opening of the inner-German border in passing. She continues to live in an East Berlin apartment block threatened by decay, as she can write her stories there in peace. It's not a real luxury, she knows that, but she doesn't need it to write either.

However, her life takes a turn when the building in which she lives is to be renovated. The owner of the building, Klaus Borgmann, is not interested in capitalist ideas and continues to live his life on the street, where he simply ignores capitalist thought processes such as buying or selling. Accordingly, he cannot and does not want to help Cosima in this regard. As the story progresses, Cosima makes direct contact with the owner Klaus, takes him under her wing and teaches him how to present yourself as a decent home owner.

Production notes

The film premiered on German television on April 9, 1992 in Germany .

criticism

"A comedy that is poorly staged and in which the dialogues degenerate into speech bubbles: What ultimately saves the film is its joy in telling stories and its sympathy for the (film) characters."
