Johann Jürgens (* 1985 in Neubrandenburg ) is a German actor and musician .

Life

After leaving school, Jürgens trained as an actor at the Zinnowitz Theater Academy and later at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . In 2008, together with Laura Tratnik , he was awarded the young talent award of the Federal Ministry of Science and Research at the theater meeting of German-speaking acting students in Rostock for his role in "Push up" . In 2008 he played in the bat studio theater of the drama school "Ernst Busch" in "Hamlet / Fragments". He was then taken over by Klaus Dörr , the managing director of the Maxim Gorki Theater, invited to an audition and engaged.

From the 2008/09 season until 2013 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater. There he played u. a. Valère, the friend of the old Harpagon's daughter, in “ Der Geizige ” (director: Jan Bosse , premiere: 2009/10 season) and Charles Bovary in a stage version of “ Madame Bovary ” (director: Nora Schlocker , premiere: February 2011) with Julischka Eichel as partner in the title role. In addition to smaller musical interludes in various productions, Jürgens also took part in two music projects at the Maxim Gorki Theater: “On the sunny side”, an evening with songs by Manfred Krug , and “Back to nature - a concert for city dwellers”.

In 2011, Jürgens played at Heimathafen Neukölln in Berlin in “Endstation Ewige Heimat” (Direction: Nicole Oder, Elisabeth Tropper and Ensemble). In the 2013/14 season, Jürgens joined the Schauspiel Stuttgart as a permanent member of the ensemble . There he played u. a. Georg / Franz in “ Urgötz ” (director: Simon Solberg , premiere: October 2013), Kohlenmunk in “ Das kalte Herz ” (director: Armin Petras , premiere: February 2014), Macheath in Brecht / Weill's “ Die Dreigroschenoper ” (director: Sebastian Baumgarten , premiere. June 2014), the young Eberhard Pfister in “ Pfister's Mühle ” (director: Armin Petras, premiere: November 2014, with Julischka Eichel, Michael Klammer and Holger Stockhaus as partners) and Terry in Breaking the Waves (director: David Bösch ; Premiere: May 2015, with Robert Kuchenbuch as partner).

Johann Juergens also worked in several television and movie productions. One of his first films, zweisam (2009; director: Jano Ben Chaabane), was awarded 1st prize at the German Youth Video Prize in 2010 . He played u. a. in The Last Silence (2010; director: Baran bo Odar ), Die Insichtbare (2011; director: Christian Schwochow ) and We wanted to go to sea (2012; as Schönherr's inmate Teucher, director: Toke Constantin Hebbeln ). In the movie Goethe! (2010) he played Assessor Schleyn under the direction of Philipp Stölzl .

In 2010 he played a leading role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Wismar ; he played the poacher Jürgen Koczinki. In the ZDF crime series A Strong Team , he was seen in a supporting role in the crime film The Woman in Red Dress (2013), he played the young groom Christian Krüger. In November 2015 he was seen in an episode role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Leipzig ; he played the suspect Kevin Wilke. In Sherry Hormann's political thriller Tödliche Secrets (2016), Jürgens played the NGO activist Arne Gentner and contact man for a whistleblower . In the fairy tale film The Swineherd (first broadcast: December 2017), Jürgens played the shopkeeper Krumm at the side of Milan Peschel . In January 2018, Jürgens was then seen on ZDF in the crime series SOKO Cologne in an episode role; he played the cellist Anton Castell, whose younger brother was killed in a brutal robbery. In the TV series SOKO Potsdam , which will be broadcast for the first time on ZDF in September 2018 , Jürgens plays one of the continuous series roles; he is the photographer Lars Ruhland, the current friend of the chief detective Luna Kunath ( Caroline Erikson ).

He is the author of the radio play Das Türschloss (2003; Director: Patrick Conley ). In addition, Jürgens is also active as a musician, singer and songwriter. He composed film music and worked in various band projects. He started learning the cello when he was nine years old ; he also plays the piano , guitar and drums . Since 2004 he has been a member and lead singer of the band “Sternburg Rot”, whose music is a mixture of “ punk rock and power pop”. Jürgens himself prefers to write and sing in German. In 2012, Jürgens was seen as an actor in the music video "Dare to believe" for the music project XAVAS .
