Holger Stockhaus (born March 8, 1973 in Hanover ) is a German actor .

Life

Stockhaus completed his acting training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum from 1994 to 1998 . After that he worked mainly as a theater actor . Stockhaus played a wide repertoire on the theater stage , which included plays from antiquity, dramas by William Shakespeare , the German-speaking authors of the Classical and Romantic periods , but also plays from the turn of the century, modern and contemporary theater.

He had permanent engagements and guest contracts at the Schauspielhaus Bochum (1997), at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen (1998–2001; also again in the 2003/04 season), at the Kassel State Theater (2001–2003) and at the Heidelberg Theater (2007/08 season) .

Between 2004 and 2007 he also worked as a freelancer at the Schauspiel Frankfurt , at the Volksbühne Berlin (2005/06, later again in 2009), at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin (2006) and at the Theater unterm Dach in Berlin. From the 2008/09 season until 2011 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Centraltheater Leipzig .

In the 2010/11 season he played the role of group leader Erhardt in a stage version of Ernst Lubitsch's film Being or Not being at the Maxim Gorki Theater . In the 2011/12 season he was a member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater. In 2011 he appeared at the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart as Angelo in Maß für Maß . In the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons he was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart. In 2016 he appeared at the Schauspiel Frankfurt as Mayor Skwosnik-Dmuchanowski in Der Revisor .

His stage roles included: Theseus / Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1997; Schauspielhaus Bochum, director: Peter Fitz ), Azor in Der Streit von Marivaux (1997; Schauspielhaus Bochum), Freder in Illness of the Young (2003; Staatstheater Kassel), the title role in Peer Gynt (2004; Deutsches Theater Göttingen), Trinculo in Der Sturm (2004; Deutsches Theater Göttingen), the title role in Michael Kohlhaas (2007; Theater Heidelberg), Figaro in The Great Day or Figaro's Wedding (2007; Theater Heidelberg ), Spiegelberg in Die Räuber (2007/08; Theater Heidelberg), Graf Guiche in Cyrano de Bergerac (2008; Schlossfestspiele Heidelberg), Mortimer Brewster in Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen (2008–2010; Centraltheater Leipzig) and Eugen Rümpel in Pension Schöller (2010 / 11; Centraltheater Leipzig).

Stockhaus has also played several television and film roles since the late 1990s. The focus of his artistic activity is still theater work. He initially worked in a few short films . In the multi-award-winning debut film Be My Baby (2014) by director Christina Schiewe , Stockhaus played the professor Olaf, with whom the mother of the 18-year-old female main character Nicole, who lives with Down syndrome , falls in love.

Stockhaus also appeared in several television series . He had a continuous series role from 2004 to 2006 as Bernd Fabrius in the crime series Mit Herz und Handschellen ; he played, alongside Henning Baum , the ex-boyfriend and flatmate of the Munich police inspector Leo Kraft. He had episode roles in the television series Polizeiruf 110 (2000), SOKO Leipzig (2009), Danni Lowinski (2011; as a child's father Paul Steinhausen), SOKO Cologne (2014; as a revenge-minded husband Michael Schäffner) and Mord mit Aussicht (2014 ; as masseur Matthias Würselen).

In the ZDF series Sibel & Max , Stockhaus played Other Circumstances (first broadcast: January 2015), the role of Georg Hansen, an aggressive husband and future father who becomes violent towards his pregnant wife. Stockhaus has played the undertaker Wolfgang Habedank in the humorous ZDF crime series Friesland since 2015 . He has also been part of the regular cast of the sketch comedy series Sketch History on ZDF since 2015 . Stockhaus has been a member of the ZDF news satire heute-show ensemble since October 2018 .
