history
1000 days is Steinau's graduation film at the film department of the Kassel Art College . Together with co-author and cameraman Frank Schwaiger, Steinau implemented the project from the idea to the script to the first rough cut in just 3 months. The film was produced with € 5000 funding from the final film funding of the Hessian Film Fund. The film is freely available for download under the Creative Commons license by-nc-nd . 1000 Tage was nominated for the Hessian University Film Award 2006 and was shown at the Documentary and Video Film Festival Kassel 2006 .
Synopsis
After Katerina has taken care of her daughter Emma's first few years, she wants to go back to her old job, actress. However, the stress of everyday life and the lack of support from her husband Holger ruin her audition at the theater. She suffers in the honest world of the middle-class between family meetings and dinners with financially and spiritually rich acquaintances. Spurred on by an old friend, the actor Stefan, the idea matures in her to just do what she really wants for the next 1000 days.
