Rainer Sellien

Rainer Sellien (born November 6, 1963 in Celle ) is a German actor .

Life

Sellien completed his training from 1987 to 1990 at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum and in the following decade worked mainly as a theater actor on renowned German-speaking theaters. Until 1995 he was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , 1995/1996 at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar and then at the Berliner Ensemble . In 1998 he played at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and in 1999 at the Schauspielhaus Zurich . He worked u. a. with the directors Jürgen Gosch and Frank-Patrick Steckel . From 2000 to 2002 he was a member of the independent theater group Lubricat in Berlin .

In 2000 Sellien began to work increasingly for film and television. In 2001 he was in Kai Wessel's widely acclaimed television film Has he Work? to see. Sellien has repeatedly received leading roles, for example in Michael Verhoeven's Bloch episode , Vergend, nicht regarding or as Kaiser Wilhelm II in the BBC documentary drama 37 Days in 2014 . He has appeared in supporting roles in international cinema productions such as Der Vorleser , Unknown Identity and, most recently, All the Money in the World .

Rainer Sellien is a member of the German Film Academy . He lives in Berlin.
