action

After being kidnapped, the lawyer Anna Winter was shot and was in a coma.

After waking up and narrowly escaping death, Anna wants to start a new life and gives up her law firm to take a job in a legal call center. She quickly makes friends with her colleague Caroline, who offers her to furnish Anna's apartment together. But just a few days after her first day at work, Anna is contacted by a mysterious caller who reminds her of her past. He asks her to get the wrongly convicted Morlock out of prison, otherwise there would be more murders. The caller referred Anna to Morlock's lawyer Rothkamm, whom she went to see immediately. He immediately suspects Patrick Stimmler to be behind the anonymous caller, as Stimmler firmly believes in Morlock's innocence, although the evidence speaks against Morlock. In addition, on the advice of the lawyer, he admitted the act in court in order to be able to plead manslaughter.

Anna visits Stimmler, it turns out that he is not the caller. Stimmler explains to Anna the evidence he has gathered, which suggests that it was not Morlock, since behind the killer there is a serial killer who murdered many years before the murder for which Morlock was convicted. For the more distant cases, however, Morlock has an alibi. This killer strangles his victims and injects them with various stimulants, and they are all dehydrated. Stimmler suspects a kind of ritual punishment of the victims by the murderer.

Anna visits Morlock in prison and now also believes that Morlock is innocent. The anonymous caller forces voter to call Anna and lure him to voter. Stimmler reports on another murder in which a local woman was killed, the serial killer's first murder. When Anna arrives there, the house is empty, she only finds the collected evidence of a serial killer and takes them with her. She visits the woman who found the first body.

Anna takes on the case, she looks for the site of the first corpse in the forest. She is repeatedly bothered by the anonymous calls and receives flowers from the caller. She talks to her former work colleague Marco Lorenz about meeting the caller, which he requests. Although Marco advises against her, Anna wants to meet the caller at the main train station. However, the caller notices that Marco followed her and is annoyed because he has asked for Anna to appear alone. A chase ensues, at the end of which Anna has to watch as the caller and alleged murderer beats up Marco and throws him into a coma.

At home Anna's apartment is full of white roses, her pistol is no longer in her drawer. She leaves her apartment in a panic. She receives a call from Caroline's cell phone, but the killer speaks to her and she learns that he kidnapped her friend Caroline. She follows the caller's instructions and finds the body of a young woman, another victim of the murderer, in a subway tunnel. He now sends them to Rothkamm's office. There Anna finds the body of Stimmler. Shortly afterwards Rothkamm appears, Anna thinks he is the murderer and knocks him down. However, the killer calls her so that she knows that she innocently knocked Rothkamm down.

Based on pictures she finds at Rothkamm, she discovers that the son of the woman who found the first body is the murderer. It turns out that the parents were aware of the son's murders but did not betray him. The son committed the first murder in order to secure the love of his father. When the latter found out, he hanged himself. Anna drives into the forest to the place where the father killed himself. There she falls into the clutches of the murderer. He wants Anna to be his judge and asks Anna to call him innocent , since all these women have seduced men and he would have only brought them to their punishment. In the end, however, Anna manages to overpower the murderer and free herself and Caroline from his clutches.
