Monika Plura
Monika Plura (born December 12, 1985 in Neuwied ) is a German camerawoman .
Life
Together with her twin sister Martina Plura , she made her first films at the age of eleven. After graduating from the Rhein-Wied-Gymnasium in Neuwied , she completed several internships in German and international cinema and television productions. From 2008 to 2012 she studied film at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . Her mentors were Wim Wenders and Pepe Danquart . In addition to her studies, she taught the film group at the Osterbek-Gymnasium in Hamburg for several years and directed video courses for children and young people. She also worked as a freelance camerawoman in the fields of short films, advertising and documentary films.
From 2012 to 2014 Monika Plura completed her master's degree in image design at the Hamburg Media School . Parallel to her camera work, she continues to teach as a lecturer and write scripts .
She was the camerawoman for the short film Perfection , which premiered in 2014 at the Hof International Film Festival , and then camerawoman for the short film Am Strand, which also premiered at the Hof International Film Festival in 2015 .
In the spring of 2015 Monika took over the design for the 90-minute television crime comedy Vorstadtrocker . Her twin sister Martina Plura directed. At the 37th Biberach Film Festival , suburban rocker won the Biber for “Best TV Film”.

In 2011 Monika Plura was awarded the Johanna Loewenherz Scholarship together with her twin sister . The reason was summarized as “Monika and Martina Plura are women who study successfully in their field, take up women's issues in their films and do something special for women and girls with their voluntary work in Neuwied”.
