Oana Solomon , actually Oana Solomonescu , (born December 27, 1966 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a German actress of Romanian origin.

Life

Oana Solomonescu came to Germany when she was 17. She did her Abitur in Frankfurt am Main . From 1987 to 1990 she completed an acting training at the Vienna Conservatory . Meanwhile, she was an apprentice in the Vienna circle of director George Tabori .

She got her first engagements during her training at the Theater der Jugend Wien and Ensemble Theater Wien . After graduating in 1990, Solomonescu played at the Theater in der Josefstadt and was hired by Jürgen Flimm at the Hamburg Thalia Theater in 1991 . There she worked with the directors Robert Wilson ( Alice ), Werner Schroeter ( Marianne ), Ruth Berghaus ( Die Heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe ), George Tabori ( Delirium ), Dimiter Gotscheff ( street corner ), Cesare Lievi ( The Giants from the Mountains ) and Nikolai Sykosch ( Cabal and Love , Christmas at Ivanov's ).

In 1997 Solomonescu left the Thalia Theater ensemble to focus more on film and television roles. She made the following films (since 2000 under the name Oana Solomon), among others: Follow Me (director: Maria Knilli), Malina (1991), Der Kopf des Mohren (directed by Paulus Manker ), Colorful Dogs (1995), The guilt of love (Directed by Andreas Gruber ) and Zoom (directed by Otto Alexander Jahrreiss).

On television she was seen in Tatort , Die Cleveren , SK Kölsch , Stahlnetz , Der Ermittler , Ein stark Team und Großstadtrevier, among others. She also starred in numerous television films, such as Der gute Merbach (director: Matti Geschonneck ), Quartet for five (director Roland Gräf ), The Little Difference (director Thomas Bohn ), Herzbeben (director Thomas Jahn ) and Lautlose Steps (director Christian from Castelberg).

2010 played Solomon in the miniseries In the face of crime by Dominik Graf , of the German Television Award won. Her theater engagements were most recently in the following theaters: Deutsches Schauspielhaus , Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , Kampnagel Hamburg, Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) Berlin, Sophiensaele Berlin, Salzburg Festival , Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen , Ruhrtriennale . From 2005 to 2011 she worked continuously with the director Angela Richter . Since 2012 she has been working primarily with Luk Perceval . With his staging Front , an international guest performance that was created in cooperation between Thalia Theater in Hamburg and NT Gent (Belgium), she toured in over 20 European cities as well as in China between 2014 and 2016. In 2017 she played at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Gent in the world premiere of the opera "Infinite Now" by Chaya Czernowin , again directed by Luk Perceval. The production was selected for the world premiere in 2017 in the critics' survey conducted by Opernwelt magazine .

Oana Solomon lives in Hamburg and has a daughter.
